About Your Role

SocialQ is looking for an experienced graphic designer in digital e-commerce and social. If you are excited about inspiring customers through visually compelling content across site, email, and social, this role is for you. You’re able to develop a design strategy with typography, illustration, iconography, layout, photography, and art direction to create branded experiences that engage and motivate a customer. You love discussing brand positioning and look and feel, and can imagine executing a shoot and storyboarding the content output. You have a top-tier aesthetic and impeccable design to help translate varied brand experiences and product offerings across multiple industries, and across formats like organic social posts, stories, banner ads, website and landing pages, paid ads, emails, and decks. You’ll collaborate with content, delivery, media, and strategy team members to deliver the best possible creative experience. 

This position is freelance-to-permanent, starting as remote with a future hybrid in-office schedule. Willingness to work east coast hours is a must. Check out @SocialQAgency on Instagram and to find out more about our brand and services.


  • Create original designs that reinforce a brand’s style or voice through its visual touch points
  • Develop well-conceived creative work that implements the Client’s business strategy.
  • Work with UX designers and Developers when applicable to iterate and perfect interactions and visual designs to create a polished, exceptional experience for landing pages or full e-commerce websites. 
  • Design a variety of content pieces across e-commerce, such as logos, icons, infographics, organic social posts and stories, e-mails, paid ads, and website mock ups. 
  • Approach design with an expert grasp on best practices, accessibility, and design heuristics, and be able to clearly articulate design decisions.
  • Craft and develop, design, layout, graphics, component design, and design materials.
  • Set and oversee standards for templates, layouts, guidelines, partners, and graphics.
  • Produce creative briefs to translate strategies to creative execution options.
  • Synthesize and incorporate feedback from internal team members and Clients. 
  • Understand when to leave good ideas behind in pursuit of great ones – strong ability to collaborate and brainstorm. 
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, peers, competitors to bring forth implementation of new techniques, designs and inform team.
  • Organize and maintain a scalable design library for team using Figma, Box, and other tools.

What You Bring To The Table

  • 5+ years of experience as a visual designer, art director, or similar creative roles
  • A degree in graphic design or related field or equivalent experience within a design field
  • An accessible online portfolio that demonstrates successful user-centered visual design
  • Experience developing brand standards and style guidelines
  • Knowledge of e-commerce and digital marketing best practices with experience designing and producing content for the web, e-commerce social, and paid ads
  • Proven ability across the fields of graphic design, typography, iconography, photo and illustration
  • Confident designer who is not afraid to take risks and able to take feedback and critique
  • Knowledge of UI, typography, image, and related design standards for web
  • Knowledge of digital content production, including post-production editing
  • Fluency with contemporary social media platforms, technologies, and trends
  • Familiarity with motion design for web and social
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
